Quote | Amazing, unique recording of Mike Oldfield playing a 'funny Spanish tune' called Cavatina. Never heard of it before? It is the original unpublished 'classical' version of the track that eventually became 'Etude'. |
Good to know that the seller is well informed...
Cavatina is a tune by Stanley Myers, most famously arranged for classical guitar by John Williams and used in the soundtrack to the film The Deerhunter. The tune which became Étude is 'Recuerdos de la Alhambra' by Francisco Tárrega - Mike played it on some of his 80s tours (I believe the 1984 one), but without hearing the recording being sold, I couldn't say if that's where the recording has come from.
