Caroline Monk has posted a new video of Mike on YouTube, where he says that his new rock album is nearly finished and drops a hint about him working with Steve Lipson on a remix of a "very very well known band".

One day he says "I have no idea of other artists or genres that music journalists talk about. I haven't got a clue."

Another day he remixes "a very well known band".

So it might be a very well known band journalists never talk about?

There were stong hints in Caroline's posting that the band might be Queen and the song could even be Bohemian Rhapsody.  I can kind of imagine an instrumental cover done by Mike largely on guitar of BR.  Whether it's a good idea or not... only time can tell.

Caroline stated its not Queen ..we guessed wrong Platinumpty.

Olivier .. I'm guessing the famous band is one from way back rather than newer well known bands that Mike doesn't listen to  :)

Maybe a remix for "Isolated System" from Muse?
There is obvious reference to Tubular Bells in the song, and it will be funny Oldfield involved in the remix.

And there was that talk of Muse to sound a bit like TB for a soundtrack...

I think it's just something aimed at his detractors rather than his fans really.I'm sure he listens to a lot of stuff...but he goes there and transforms into his own thing.

I only hope Simon Le Bon is busy. LOL
It is also good to know that One Republic are better choice than Coldplay since One Republic are Coldplay for work class people :)
However, Muse sounds like a good idea although Daft Punk would be best for remixing, but they are not rock band? What is rock band nowadays anyway? :)

In dreams, if not in reality:

Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Kashmir - Led Zeppelin
Take My Breath Away - Queen (all guitars)
Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
Love is the Drug - Roxy Music
Virginia Plain - Roxy Music

Not my favorite song of all time but I think he'd do a wonderful cover: Eagles' Hotel California.

Could the singer be Luke Struts?

If he's the man...I can feel an indie rock feel on Mike's new album then!

Based on Lipson's profile-- Frankie goes to Hollywood (instrumental 2 tribes?), Art of Noise (Close to the Edge), late Yes (Teakbois?)
