Mike and his two sons send greetings to the European Space Agency and their Sentinel-1 mission in this video where he also mentions his passion for space, science fiction, and Arthur C. Clarke. Sentinel from Tubular Bells II is the official music for the mission.

Very clever idea of ESA to choose that track for their mission, it fits perfectly and it also proves their good musical taste!  :p

Nice to listen to Mike's greetings, and the two 'uncles' are really sweet!  :)

Off topic - but a new interview with Mike suggests his next album is a Tubular Bells prequel.  See: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014....96.html

daznug .... Mike has stated this many months ago on his FB group page as well as more recently an acoustic folk album alogside. The latter being due to loving just playing his new Heron(?) acoustic. He's also stated he'll be working on the 5.1 Amarok ! :)

What the "TB prequel" could means, anyway? How it should sound? Hergest Ridge can sound as the prequel of TB, for example. I think it should have many guitar works in it, many acoustic passages, some irish instruments like dudes and so on, and not much synths at all. I'am very, very curious about the next album.

May now do 'another rock-type thing' instead !! .... Obviously nothing set in stone and Mike follows where his muse takes him !:) ... Happy with whatever Mike decides on since I know he'll put his heart and soul into it !

Do love Mike when he does rock though ! ... Include some innovative heavy metal Mike ! .... that would be fun ... and moving ... and exciting ! ... You did half-jokingly mention an HM album in a Sky News TV interview at the time of MOTS release.
