The "loop" thing annoys me, personally, and not because of the "techno" idea.
Back in 1966, some guys went into the studio and said "hey, I just figured out how cool it is to play tapes BACKWARDS. Nobody ever did it, you know? Plus, you can make loops out of these tapes, then make them record themselves until they couldn't take them anymore! So we can use these loops in to a song. Let's just... uh, call some guys to hold pencils to hold the tape loops while they're playing... it might work."
Nowadays, you just take a finished loop and use it exactly the way it's supposed to be used. Why don't people use machine in ways they SHOULDN'T be used, like people were making tape loops and playing them backwards back in 1966? Humans should dominate, torture and rule over machines, not the other way around.
There, rant done.
