Yes. The video camera signal is downlinked via a miniature analog TV transmitter, to a special TV receiver, and displayed on a portable TV screen. I use a 30" LCD in the back seat of my car. This image, along with sound, is used to fly the model aircraft. I capture the video with a portable DVD burner. Using this system I have been able to fly my models up to 25km away. The range is displayed on screen (the LOS on the image refers to line-of-sight distance, in feet.) The navigation and other flight aids are generated by an on screen display (OSD) which is also installed in the aircraft. It has GPS, gyro stabilisation and barometric inputs to assist with flight management. The OSD also has an autopilot which can generally be relied upon to bring the aircraft home if the video or RC link is lost. Its lots of fun.
