In 1975 Mike Oldfield received a grammy in US for tubular bells.

Does anyone know if he was there in person to pick it up?

There are youtube-clips from the grammy awards 1975, but he doesn't seem to be there....

I would be very surprised if he was, taking into account his state of mind at the time (he was basically living as a recluse on Hergest Ridge (the hill, not the album)). Maybe Richard Branson picked it up for him.
