Hello

Is there a source of information on whether the Deluxe editions series will be completed? Hard to find information - the "Official Mike Store" link from mikeoldfiedofficial.com  is no longer valid  and amazon shows only the releases I think are out - that is from TB to Discovery.

Internet searches come back with little. Any word on

The Killing Fields
Islands
Earth Moving
Amarok
Heaven's Open

I assume only Virgin releases have a chance of getting the treatment.

I wish I had kept my Mike HDCD releases...

Maybe Mike thinks the later ones already sound 'up to scratch'. They sound fine to me.

I hope it's not it. Surely Mike couldn't resist Amarok in 5.1 surround.

Yes, given that I'm frequently content to listen to music on the equivalent of old tin boxes, I probably shouldn't comment.

I hope we hear news of something soon, I can't remember waiting this long without any news from Mike.

He's probably just enjoying himself. We mustn't forget he has many other interests - for example, as the booklet accompanying Boxed makes clear, trampolining  :D

The Killing Fields ...

Note that The Killing Fields has already been re-released in 2016 at the same time as Discovery with the single versions of Étude and Evacuation included as bonus tracks:

Re-mixing Heaven's Open or Earth Moving must be a depressing task. The Roland and Korg synths that make up half of the music don't sound much better how ever much you process or EQ them.

I suspect Mike is not so enthusiastic about re-visiting this shady corner of his career. :P

I don't presume to know which of his records are Mike's favourites, but yes, I suppose if you like some more than others there's less of an incentive to work on the less favoured ones.

It has now been over 3 years since the last of the deluxe editions was released, that being The Killing Fields. I wonder why it all appears to have stopped? It seems like there is no-one to contact about this. Where is Korgscrew when you need him?
