Hey, I had the same. I was a bit stupid, 'cause I wouldn't listen to Tubular Bells (I guess I thought it was too long for me). But then I listened to Qe2, and then I loved MO. :) I was about 10 then.

Me birthday today, 18 years old.  :D
Let's open the guinness!!!!

I remember me watching the premiere for TB II on TV way back in 92(aged 11) and I found it very boring...in 98/99(aged 17/18),saw again more Mighty Mike´s stuff(Sentinel and Tatoo) and I loved Sentinel and hated Tatoo...in 2001(aged 20),a great friend of mine gave a lot of Mike´s albums and videos, listened for a while and now I do love Mike´s music a lot!!!

I think that you´ve got sometimes to get a little bit older to understand some kind of art, like music. Some stuff you need sometime to get its feeling and spirit...that´s what happened to me regarding Mike Oldfield. And now I´m not only a fan of his great and fab music, but also the person too.
;)

I had sort of the same story, but not quite so much. My dad used to play TB a lot, and I found it quite nice, but not really really good. I found FMO and Crises, and they were quite nice too. Then we decided to get the TB II/III DVD, that was when I really started to like MO's music.
