Whenever someone tells me that he/she likes MO music very much I always answer that I like it still more.

Just taking it as a joke, as usually :p, I've been wondering if there could exist a way to measure this assessment.
So, as a kind of duel, I've been trying to find if he/she could test me -I mean, with a reasonable test- and after I could shoot him/her with another so as to reach a proper conclusion.
The test should consist more in "the feeling" about MO music rather than in "specific knowledge" (eg. which was the name of MO's first pet).

I think I'm going to propose this challenge:
«Let's listen TB part one togheter and I'll check if you can say the words announcing the instrument "Grand piano" at the very precise moment that sounds the introducer's voice.»
(you can prove yourself!;))

Have you some alternatives?

How about precise timing of the handclaps on Sunjammer from TBII, or practicing a airdrumming session to match the Crises finale solo.

Or the precise timing of the countdown in Crystal Clear from TSODE?

And can I also add, very smugly,  :D  that 'the announcer' according to Mike Oldfield lore is called "The Master of Ceremonies"

Everyone's interpretation is different, and everyone has a right to that opinion. There is no "right" one, I am adding this post to communicate my thoughts to share them with like-minded souls who will be able to comment in good nature.

Those where good! I'll note them down on the list

Another one:
«Performe the exact entry of the xylophones theme in Incantations Part 2 preceding The song of Hiawatha after the drums-bongos solo.»

Oh! I didn't know performances were included! Then surely one should be trying to play all 64 simultaneous guitars from Ommadawn part 2 in the intro on one D guitar :D and succeeding, as you've had that much practice  :D

you're real good with mikes lyrics if you can say:
Skibbylabab skibbylalab 20 times in a row and VERY FAST!!!
If at the end of those ten seconds it sounds like 'skillebelab' you are NO TRUE FAN  :O

This brings my mind back to the "Symptoms of M.O. fanatics" topics that popped up in here a while ago. So I don't think I can do anything better here than quote (or paraphrase) something that I or somebody else said there. One of my favourites was this:

Switch on your PC and do nothing else. If after a little time a Hans Claesson TB-themed wallpaper appears, and even if you try to change it, you only and always get one of Hans Claesson's TB-themed wallpapers, you're a die-hard fan. :)

Useless to say, I have plenty of wallpapers on my PC, but the only ones I actually use are... Hans Claesson's ones. :D

There's another one as well: grab a paper clip and turn it into a TB shape in less than one minute. :D

I can do this. And I can also do the handclaps on "Sally". :D

EDIT: There's a piece by Robert Zackrisson, called "One day in Paradise", which is very Oldfieldian and has a drum pattern very like the one in "Sally", including the handclaps, and I can do that as well. :)

My chances to display my in-depth know how, and thus reassure myself of my continuing fanship usually come about when someone at the pub points at my pinbadge and goes "whats that?"

Heres a rather uncomplimentary picture to aid your imaginations.
