Hello,

here you can vote for Mike (and for 659 other "guitar heroes", too):

http://www.stromgitarren.ch/753.html

This site is hosted in Switzerland, therefore the language is German.

For those of you who are not that familiar with the German language, a little instruction:

- enter "oldfield" and click on the button "suchen" (search)
- now click on "oldfield"
- now click on "Vote for your favourite Guitar Hero" (under the picture)
- now you have to enter the code (4 capital letters)
- now click "OK"

That's it...

You can vote only once a day. To see the results click on "Highscore".

Mike has only 3 votes now... :/

Many of those guitarists I haven't even heard of :/ . So many greats in there too.

Mike is on 12 points one less than Yngwie Malmsteem, or Richie Sambora :( .  Mike is much much better, the best  :)  :D, I voted  for Mike if it worked or not I don't know.

It's funny! A few hours ago, I was on the Jean Michel Jarre website, and a guy posted the same message: "vote for Patrick Rondat" (guitarist on JMJ albums). And I visited the page and voted Mike Oldfield  ;)

2 people from the JMJ board voted for Mike by the way. There are fans outside this board as well  :D

It's funny, it's exactly the same message:

Maybe projectZ and andy are the same guy who likes both guitarists best. I voted for Mike this afternoon.

I voted for Mike and Phil Keaggy (christian guitarist but widely known and amazing talent). Kinda odd that his "Most Important Band" was Sallyangie, though.

No, I'm not Andy, but I did copy his post from the jarrenet-forum to help Mike to a higher position  :p

To sidetrack slightly, that Stromgitarren exhibition is worth seeing, if you happen to be in Switzerland. I saw it while it was in Berlin and found it a nice way to spend a morning - there were lots of historic guitars on display, with some sound samples available to hear and various bits of information about them.

Regarding the poll, if you try and vote twice (not that any of us would be so corrupt as to do that), it says "Du hast heute schon gewählt!" (you've already voted today)...I'm wondering if that means you can vote once every day...

I voted for Mike, I know what I did wrong yesterday, I forgot to enter the four letter code :/. I managed to work out how to do it,   I can speak a little German, not much, (I can ask for a large beer please, also a pineapple or tomatoes, and count to 12, and can say a few other things  ), maybe I could try and improve my German.
Sorry getting back onto topic, at least Mike features in this poll, Mike is VASTLY underrated as a guitarist. It's criminal that Mike is often ommited from many greatest guitarist polls.

Wow Mike IS ahead of both Dave Gilmour and Pete Townsend:D , surprising since Mike's talents as a guitarist are largely ignored in these polls.   I can only put this down to one thing that more fans of Mike have voted in this poll than Pink Floyd or Who fans ( I like Floyd and The Who too, they rocked at Live 8).

   :)
