Those of you who enjoyed U-MYX on L + S (or for those unfortunate people whose versions unfortunately didn't have it) might like to try this free U-MYX from Beverley Knight.

Its really good fun- and an amazingly complex arrangement of instrumentation for a pop singer.

Thanks for the link! I have saved two versions (rather similar) :)

Both are instrumental, Beverley Knight is a talented singer, I however wanted to focus on bringing the background music to the forefront.

I was surprised at the amount of layers, the strings and drums are most prominent of course, with three different types of guitar having little impact. I took out drums in some areas and let the Jazz, Acoustic and Electric Guitar pieces get more exposure. Overall it this interesting track a few miniature crescendos :)

I was surprised by it for a Pop song i have to say. Very complex production- makes it great for U-MYX exploration.

Have you uploaded yours. Mine is the 2nd one in list- and quite a masterpiece!

Ah, nice things yes, that Umix thing.
WIth the L&S it's nice to do too!! I've made some nice mixes (well... might be amateurish, but I like it ;) ) hehehe...
I only find trouble when I want to save them as files on the computer so that I can hear them again later... never managed to do that. But it's great stuff to mock around with on a boring friday evening :)

Two reasons for my not doing so:

1) I don't know how to! :D

2) As her voice is excellent, I wouldn't want to insult her by uploading an instrumental version, I read that she checks them ;)

Yet I still ask; how does one upload one's 'mix'?  :)

There are 2 ways of saving your U-MYX.

1. Click the 'Disc' button (2nd from left at bottom)

This saves your mix as a non audio file- and is the file that you upload to the websites for sharing U-MYX Mixes.

2. Click 'Export' putton (2nd from right at bottom)

This saves your mix as a .Wav audio file- and you can then bung it on your ipod- listen to it on your computer etc..

Don't worry about offending Beverly- i'm sure you'll flatter her producers/writers- and i'm not sure she'll listen to them all anyway...

Unless of course........ you're scared? ;-)

hehehe, laying down the gauntlet?  :D

I was familiar with techniques for saving files, may I have a link to the page upon which I upload them please? :)

It really will beg the question which I have been asked by many a mainstream person 'where are the words?'  :p

Too right i am! My mix is untouchably good! (2nd one down)

Mixes (the 4k .umx files- not audio files) can be put up here-

Of course, if you click the 'Globe' button on U-MYX (furthest to the right) it'll take you straight there ;-)

D'oh! :D I forgot to save a .umx file, I just exported the wav :/

I have downloaded the top two, [space for opinion to be written after dinner] :)

If we're to 'keep this duel burning' (corny on purpose there < ;)) I will send you an mp3 of my mix
