@ Brandon: sorry if I insist, but when I said that "Long Road" sounded like background music, I didn't mean that I thought that something was supposed to go on top of it - I meant that it sounded like a soundtrack to some film scene, with dialogue, sound FX, etc., happening together with it, not on top of it. To put it very frankly, I just can't believe that this and the other two pieces were originally created as backing tracks to hip hop songs, because my mind just can't get to imagine how such complex and multi-layered tracks would sound if lots and lots and lots of words were sung (ahem... rapped) on top of them. However, evidently I was careless in reading your previous post about you joining a hip hop band. It's only that I just can't imagine those kinds of tracks being the backing not to a solo instrument and not even to a singing voice, but essentially to rappers' voices reciting sets of lyrics that are obviously supposed to be quite long. But who am I to know?
By the way: what if you had joined a band who did Bob Dylan-styled or Arlo Guthrie-styled talking blues songs?
