Quote (TOBY @ Sep. 22 2005, 15:46) | Well my brother was a pilot in the RAF but left earlier on this year to join Virgin Atlantic. About 30 mins ago I got a text message from him saying he had just flown his first ever Boing 747, and the name of that Boing 747? You guessed it - Tubular Belle. |
That is sooo cool! Glad to know that she's still in service! In looking through the history of Virgin Air, Tubular Belle was one of the first Boeing 747-400 series introduced to the Virgin Fleet, in 1994 (the other one introduced that year was Birthday Girl). Other names in the fleet: Dragon Lady, Lady in Red, Mustang Sally, Cosmic Girl, Ruby Tuesday, Tinker Belle, Claudia Nine, Diana, Queen of the Skies, Maiden Toulouse, Varga Girl (2005), Sleeping Beauty (2005), and Sweet Dreamer (2005).....and a bunch more.
