Its... ok i guess, im the same as you thogh mate, i fell asleep as a baby listening to oldfield though, and im remixing ommadawn now as we speak, im 16 and ive been striving for 2 years on my own album "elephant dance" renamed to be "silver apples of the moon, golden apples of the sun" but as mike himself said,"we shouldnt follow each other like sheep" i think mr oldfield would respect you more if you developed "a trip to oldfield" into something more original. but keep working my friend

where are you from by the way?

It was dull until you started singing, when it became bad.

I was put off as soon as I saw 'I'm going to be the next Mike Oldfield' what nonsense, even if you are good.

I will download it now, judging from what others have said, it's not too good  :/

Keep trying  :p

uuurgh. Not pleasing  :/

I have downloaded others by you, I hope a trip to Oldfield is the worst to be honest, otherwise they will surely be deleted pretty soon.

haunted house is my favourite, purely because it is so rediculous, please no more singing.  :(

I heard the song as well...
Your piano sound is a bit like the piano mike used on early stages (b-side sentinel), but then again, I hope you were joking about being the next Mike ;) . I don't see mike worrying very much as yet, but perhaps one day he will.
Have you heard the music from this polish boy (also on the site)? that's really nice. but I don't think you're bad. Just take some singing lessons! ;)
Good to hear music made by other fans. I like that!
Greetings from happyholland

I moved this topic here and was prepared to give it a chance (after renaming it to get rid of the ridiculous "I'm going to be the next Mike Oldfield" title) before I started looking around the web once again (that and the direction the comments were heading in - same stuff as before).

Oh one occasion, Mr Steed posts a link on a Spice Girls forum to a song which apparently is influenced by the Spice Girls. Then on another, he posts the same song saying it's influenced by Burt Bacharach. Mmm, very like the Spice Girls, he is. Better still, on another forum, he links to the track claiming it's influenced by Blondie...well, I guess that's closer to The Spice Girls than Burt Bacharach. Then on a U2 fan site, the same song is posted as being influenced by U2...I think you get the picture.

Then we get "I'm going to be the next Jean Michel Jarre" and "I'm going to be the next Midge Ure". Yeah, right.

I'm afraid I just can't see this as anything but spam (or a joke - in which case, go make your jokes on the Burt Bacharach forums or something), and R.STEED can go and eat his own lunchmeat as far as I'm concerned.

He can come back and edit his link back in if he feels I'm being unfair, but judging by the amount of time he spends contributing to this community rather than just posting links to boost his soundclick rating, I doubt he will.

Came on here with thoughts of hearing another fine fan track, but instead what do I find?
Somebody who's been very busy anyway! Can't hear the track as there's no longer a link for it,so to be fair can make no comment on that.

Mr Steed, you are not M.O and not The Spice girls,or any other's that have been mentioned - just be yourself, you might get to like it ;)  :)

dont use other artists to gain reputation, that is typical shallow pop.

I actually decided to download it, but the site would not let me unless i set up some sort of account.

From what I read here, listening to it is not worth the spam and hassle.

Korg: Have fun going to the Milli Vanilli forum where he says "I'm the next Milli Vanilli" or the Jethro Tull forum where he says "Jethro Tull is my favorite artist. He is so cool". :)

Mr Steed if your music is so good why don't you get out there and promote it rather than wasting time and space, saying that your the next Mike Oldfield , or whoever else you decide to be that day. Your just a wannabee.

There must be musicians out there DESERVING of RECOGNITION, in fact one such musician's name springs to mind immediately, JULES GRAY.  It was only by accident that I found out he had released a CD in March, as he's kept it quiet.  That's a mark of REAL TALENT, not boasting about it.
 :)  :D .
For more info on Jules' CD visit www.oportorecords.com

The seed drill wouldn't be out of place on Amarok...

I should maybe explain a little more of what's been going on with R.Steed, in case people are wondering. The problem isn't that he's been posting his music here - obviously we welcome people to do that. It's the way that it's done, and the feeling that he's probably not really interested in this forum at all other than as a means to bump up his rating in the Soundclick charts (based partly on the fact that he's never posted anything here apart from links to his soundclick page - I don't think he's even ever come back to discuss his music, and partly on the evidence I already gave, that he seems to behave in the same way on a ridiculous number of other forums). Then there also comes the problem of the way he tends to post, and how it always seems to bring out the worst in people...

I did invite him to come and re-add the link to this topic if he felt he was being unfairly targeted, but instead he chose to post another topic and add links to posts in totally unconnected topics. He won't be posting any more...
This isn't the first forum where this has happened to him either. Rather tragic really.
