This is lovely - never heard it before. Where did he play it?

Yes, it is nice, although probably lacks the focus of the Amarok version.

Gorgeous! Now if "Guitars" had been more like that.....

:O Nice! I wonder how many thousand of these we'll never get to hear. He should have held some acoustic concerts.

On a BBC radio show in 1985, together with a piece that used to be called "12 Bar Blues". The latter can be found on the bootleg "I Met A Sweet Senora in Barcelona". That bootleg has been copied under the names  "Balm For The Walking Dead" and "Yassakkanda Pangalin".

Oooooh!
I knew I missed some of this programme and only caught the last half hour with the Ommadawn piece and 12 Bar Blues. It was actually 1981 and the programme was London Tonight with Sarah Ward on Capital Radio. Thankfully someone else turned their radio and tape recorder on earlier than I did. A great addition to the "archive" and something new to me - amazing after all these years.

This sounds exactly like a section from "Branches", a bonus track on the Sallyangie disc. Yes, this piece dates from 1968 - it's that old. :) On that disc it's much faster, but the essence is there.

Amazed me from the early days of MO music, just how many little riffs get re-visited or improved....

Loved that.... a rare find indeedy

Wow, totally amazing, for all his musical genius, all he really needs is an acoustic guitar and he can touch your heart like no-one else, WHAT A TALENTED MAN HE IS.
