World premiere for Mermaid guitar

In my local news, renowned luthier Andy Manson has created a sculpture of a mermaid that features a fully playable guitar.

The article mentions Mike Oldfield at the beginning of the list of his clients. It might have been mentioned on this forum, but which guitar did Andy build for him?

The sculpture is hollow so acts like a very large-bodied acoustic guitar. Surprisingly it can be played, but the performer has to sit down around it. I guess this could help prevent the shred-head guitarists from wanting to gig with one on stage

It will recieve its first performance in Exeter on the 17th June 2005. Hmm, my finals will be over and it's only a short walk there...

edit: might not be immediately obvious - there is a link in the title above

It was one of the acoustic guitars which Mike played on Crises. He got it in a swap, in exchange for a Martin D35.

Perhaps someone can persuade Mike to take the Mermaid out on tour...

The mermaid guitar looks, well, interesting... It can't be all that practical to play on stage. I'm just trying to imagine what you'd look like on playing one... ;)
