I was just wondering if anyone else had multiple copies of the same albums/songs just because they have some differences, for example i have 3 cd copies of TSODE just because one has the cd-rom track and the other has a different cover, and the original realease, the same can be said for TB, i have an original 1973 pressing, a re release, picture disc etc, am i the only one out there!  ;)

yes.

go get help

J/K! I personally don't have duplicates of any CDs, but there were a few times where i wanted just one CD in a 3BOX set, and the other two would be duplicates, but i never went through with it (those box sets are damn expensive!;).

I think the only reason why i would get a duplicate on purpose would be because there was somekind of different track listing on it.

While I am addicted to collecting Mike Oldfield stuff, I don't have 2 copies of 1 album as of yet. One I would get right off is the newer version of TSODE with the CD Rom track. I only have the first one with the crescent. I like the artwork on that one better than the other, though. Though I'd still want the newer version.

I've got four exactly identical copies of Amarok on CD and three exactly identical copies of The Complete MO on CD. Please don't ask me why, 'cause I don't know. :)

Yes, I also got multiple CD's of Mike. I have the whole Mike Oldfield collection of his "old" cd's, plus the whole collection of the remaster cd's. And I almost have the collection on vinyl (which has been released on vinyl though). I have about 5 or 6 tubular bells versions, from vinyls to picture vinyl to cd to SACD :p ). I also have copies of Five Miles Out and Crises because they are from Disky and have some altered graphics. And I'm considering to rebuy Tr3s Lunas because the inlay has had a bad cutting job. ;)

But I don't need help. Go see Rainer's collection! ;)

Oh, by the way: I also have two exactly identical copies of Tres Lunas, 'cause I found a ruffled booklet in the first. :)

Brandon: contact me privately, maybe we can reach an agreement. :)

That's same thing happened to me Ugo, about the TL booklet!! You can read about it when you scroll up here. :)

I don't know if it's the same thing that happened to you, Blue, but my first TL booklet was not badly cut - it was ruffled, i.e. crumpled, full of obviously unintended marks of foldings. And as I am crazy enough to care for CD booklets just as much as I care for CDs :), I bought another copy of TL the very next day. ;)

Yeah me too about the booklets. Oke, mine had a bad cutting job. You know what happened when I bought the Amarok cd? I was at my local record shop ordering this Amarok cd. Had to wait a few weeks and it finaly arrived. So I wen to the shop and the guy behind the desk opens the cd, takes out the order bill and by accident crumbles my booklet a bit!!

I can't handle this. Luckly you can't see very well, but I still have to buy a second TL copy. ;)

I haven't got multiple copies of any MO albums yet (though I plan to buy QE2 remastered version soon), but I have got multiple copies of two David Bowie albums. I've got the 1999 reissue of Ziggy Stardust, as well as the 30th Anniversary Edition. You might think that it makes sense because the anniversary edition has a bonus disc, but I already had majority of those tracks in other formats.

Another double is 1. Outside. I originally bought the version 2 that omist one track from the original and adds a Pet Shop Boys remix of Hallo Spaceboy. A year or so later I bought version 1, for three times the price I payed for version 2, just top get that one track (which was great, though).

Oh, by the way: I have three copies of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon [Shine On boxed set CD, 25th Anniversary CD, 30th Anniversary CD], and two yet again exactly identical copies of Five Miles Out, both Disky. Those stupid guys at the online shop fooled me. :D
