If you have an interest in those 70's narrative symphonic albums (with double Roger Dean gatefold covers), you may be interested in this...

bbc radio 4 show

Mike gets mentioned (very briefly) as they discuss David Bedford around the 11 minute mark.

Minds immeasurably bigger thans ours thought up this stuff  :p

That was entertaining although I burned out after the Oldfield references at about 12min. That really took me back tho. I bought up Journey to the Center(Centre?) of the Earth in 1974 as soon as I learned of it. By 1984 I looked back and thought how god-aweful it was. Wakeman was ok with Criminal Record but the narrative albums......oooooo....bad. Little did I know he'd do another Journey to... album with Patrick Stewart. I read about it months prior to it's release then found it was worse than the first. Though I love Cpt. Picard(not that way), he never shut up! There was way too much talk burying the music. Thanks for putting that link up, a trip down memory lane......even though it was a quickly forgotten lane. I wonder.....does anyone here remember a concept album called "The Intergallactic Touring Band"? If they mentioned it later in that broadcast I skipped it. That was a funny one......But I did have a flirtation with all those funny albums. The last time I ever rollerskated was with my late sister in '74, Wakeman's Journey to... was playing.

And will our voices be heard
Or will they break Like the wind
