Hi

Despite being an Oldfield fan since I was a teenager, I was unaware of this site till recently (but hey, when I was a teenager, the internet didn't even exist!;). Anyway, in recent years I've been fortunate enough to have the time and the technology to realise (some of) my teenage dreams of putting together music, some of which has been influenced by Mike's works. Have a listen here

and tell me what you think? "Separation" is perhaps the more Oldfieldesque of the two (Incantations was definitely in my mind!;), "Deep Time" less so (in fact its working title was "Bedford meets Glass" which should give you some clues).

Nic

Hi Nic

Welcome! Well you got a good sound here on "Deep Time" (nice recording and yes quite Oldfield). Really like the vocals, what are you using, DAW, vsts, real instruments....?

Martin

Thanks for the kind words. I have kept this quiet but actually I am the guy who bought Througham Slad Manor a few years back, and have spent a while installing a state of the art recording studio. A while back I had the London Philharmonic down for a few days, as well as the Queen's College Choir, and the tracks you heard were the result (I added the piano parts in brief rests from trampolining on the lawn)...

...meanwhile back in the real world, I put them together in Logic - the piano is Native Instruments, (most of) the vocals and strings are Spectrasonics Omnisphere, together with some samples I collected over the years.

I'll try to put some more up soon, but may not be quite to the same style!

Hi Nic

Have just listened to both your tracks whilst I was typing.

Really lovely - taking me away in relaxation mode

Thank you.
