Hi all, I made a rock version of the 'lion' bit from Amarok, see here:

http://www.amarok.f9.co.uk/fan/fan.htm

It's not really new, but still 'the best I can do at the moment'.
Do you recognize which part of Amarok I took it from?

I remember hearing this a while ago and enjoying it then, and I still do now :)

I think the upbeat rock arrangement suits it well, and I like all the different elements you've got in there, like the guitar harmonies, the bit of spanish guitar and the whistle parts that come in later on...and the bells! They all add nice extra patches of interest. A nice piece of work!

Great! Your arrangement reminds me of the album Earth Moving, which is actually only one year older than Amarok.

Thanks for the encouraging feedback, Korgscrew and Olivier.
Yes, there's tubular bells under the final solo, not obvious but just audible.  And yes, I'm amongst 'Those who like it (Earth Moving)  ;)  '

powerful...
since the bit of the spanish guitar a constant climbing to the climax... the last minute is so strong... breathtaking...
and the end, the sound suspended over the vacuum after the riding...
i really enjoy it
;)

Glad you like it, maria.
Actually,  I worked some ideas from TB into the last minute.  Like, the solo guitar repeating the same thing while the chords change underneath...

Great work Carsten!!
Really enjoyed this.Nicely played the guitar sound sat nicely in the mix and the choice of synthetic sound were in keeping with Mikes original. Not entirely sure the nylon string interlude was needed.Very well done.  :D

Thank you James.
The nylon bit was totally unplanned. I looked at  that cheap old plywood guitar in a corner and thought  'why not play some notes on this :p  '.  The first and only take was out of time and sloppy, as you can hear.  But I liked it so much that I kept it.

You haven't picked the most obvious part of Amarok to record, but I would recongise Amarok anywhere! It really does sound very good. The acoustic bit was a bit strange and amaterish, but the rest is really good.

Well... it isn't my style, but it's pleasant to hear and I wasn't bored for one second!
