Hy,

I wanted to mention those guys... they are called Amarok / I cannot figure out from where did they get that name ? :)/, and they are somewhere from Central-Eastern Europe, i think, from Poland maybe. they play prog rock, and sometimes theyreally play like Mike! I just have one record from them, which is titled Amarok, as the band,  does anybody knows other albums or sites where i can find out more mp3s?

This is a Polish band - they are great and quite popular there.be sure - in poland nobody plays like this!
but it is not really a band...it is one man playing on most of instruments and some other people who are helping him in some parts (the man who colaborated recently with Amarok was...Colin Bass from Camel!!!;)
Amarok recorded 2 albums.he is not touring or promoting himself...it would be sad if he would stay in prog-rock underground...

Hm, the more I listen to his music, the more I like it. :) It's not as good as Mike's music of course, but definitely worth to listen to. Though I like his 2nd album, Neo Way more, it's less progressive and perhaps less "floydish" but more "oldfieldish". To be honest, I don't really like the music of Pink Floyd, so I have quite ambivalent feelings hearing a mixture of Gilmour's and Oldfield's guitar playing. All in all, I love the more Mike-influenced tracks (Neo Way I-VII; and Avalon, Lavera, Aqu, Seya, Khana from the first album) but the others are also good. :)

Anyway, as if Avalon was inspired by the Mandolin section of Amarok and Astron arose from The Watchful Eye.
