Hello,

I've recorded an Amarok Medley @ ~6½ min. Feel free to download it and have a listen.

Excellent. Why don't you post a link to your Summit Day (Slightly Orchestral Version) too , Allan?...

Downloading now :D

I was listening to Amarok in the car earlier for the first time in about a year and it reminded me how extemely *special* this music is. It was three excerpts on a tape I made and it sounded so life-affirmingly uplifting, its remarkable. Anyway sorry, I'll comment on the medley when I'm able to hear it (56k modems are such a drag)

Oliver

All my tracks can be found at my website: http://www.kebawe.com/an/

I don't really like my version of Summit Day, that's why I never mention it. ;) It's a bit boring, nothing interesting happens...and it's slower (and longer) than the original which makes it even more boring. It's kind of nice, but dated (to me anyway).

Nice work, Allan.

I like the way you've got that little Tubular Bells melody going in the first section.

You've got a pretty-darn-close-to-Mike electric guitar sound there as well.

Makes a change for me to listen to this, after listening over and over to my own versions of bits of Amarok whilst working on them (yes Allan, you managed to persuade me into doing that one ;))

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to your track. You're one of the few who play 'real' instruments. I couldn't care less for all these cheesy synth covers, like Tubular Vibes (horrible stuff). It's like making an image of a tree, but instead of using pencils, brushes and paint you use Lego. It's completely soul-less (not that I don't like Lego, I spent my childhood in a Lego box, hehe, but...).

By the way, you have to share your 'Moonlight Mando'. That's really cool. :)

Great stuff! You really captured the mood, spot on! Very dreamlike, and I agree - the tinkling TB theme in the background is a nice touch. And your guitar playing is EXTREMELY Oldfield-esque! I'd kill to be able to play like that

Yeah! Cool! I really like the way ou used real instruments for a change. I'm starting a collection of MO cover songs, and you're one is the best so far (OK, so the only other one is Korgscrew's Moonlight Mando, so no real shock there :p )

Hey guys, have you contributed to the *Amarok cover and inspired by* project Valentin Albillo started on mailing list? I think the project will miss a lot with such great Amarok inspired music and wonderful guitar playing, if you haven't.

I have created a bit of music for it miself, but I cant spread it, because I could spoil the final cd experience

:)
