What an audio experience! I've just listened to Amarok on the headphones and it sounds even more crazy!

It's such a good album... and you hear new things every time.

Funny though how it has a similar structure to a Tubular bells type of album, with the Piltdown man doing his DIY and the tubular bells at the end.

Amarok has some of Mike's greatest guitar moments - though most of them are too short!

The album would have been 4 hours long if he made the guitar bits longer
Not that this would be a crime  :p

There's only one annoying bit when listening to this album on headphones, on a quiet bit near the middle of the album, where there's a rhythmically "scraping" sound on the right channel. It's like someone rubbing my eardrum. Kind of painful, but I learnt to deal with it. Amarok on headphones during a roadtrip around sunset is one of the best musical experiences I ever had.

first time i listened to amarok was on headphones and it grabbed me forever on.. actually that's how i always listen to it.
there's so much going on in this album to let it float in the air and i prefer putting it straight into my head to avoid losing any detail.
