Isn't it great to listen to Amarok after a break (not because I needed one) of 4 or 5 months?

Well I just listened to it again. Still as great as it ever is going to be. When it came up to the mandolin section though something in my brain like a spark plug igniting just clicked and it all came back to me

Most of you will know that Gareth Randall being a fan (even if a rather critical one) of MO managed to get ITV to use bits of Amarok. The first ever time I heard Amarok around the 11th April 2000 at around 11:30 - 12:30 in the morning I always thought the mandolin section was using a common traditional theme of some sort. A bit like the type of music that you get on very cheap double glazing commercials (or at least you do down here in Cornwall). My previous thought was then realised that there *was* an advert but it used Old McDonald had a farm as the tune, but with an upped tempo very similar to the mandolin theme

Now all these months on I think my déja vu (or it should be déja écouté) has caught up with me and I think I now remember the commercial that ITV used with Amarok in it.

It was showing little clips of up-coming dramas or possibly comedies including a Mr. Bean clip for the new year 95, 96 or 97. Due to the slightly light-hearted and fast nature of this mandolin section that was used it could have been for comedies rather than dramas. Does anybody from the UK know it a bit more?

Gareth, if you still visit this board, if you still look in the Amarok forum and if you weren't put-off with the other people's contrasting views to yours, then I've got two things to say

1) Sorry I said that you are a critical fan. We all are in some way

2) Am I correct about this ITV commercial? I'd be really pleased if my déja vu was correct. Could you tell me if I was right?

(OT) Mr. Bean @ New Year 95/96/97, was that the one where he was singing Auld Lang Syne with the little bear?

In any case I do not remember the advert 'coz I was 10,11,12 @ the time
Another good idea for a '101 uses for a MO album/extract' type thing
