I have an old old Amarok. Is it worth it to get "Amarok Remastered"? Is there that much difference? I'm wondering if it is a step back, because the sales listing says it is 52 minutes. Where did 8 minutes go?

I'm sure that sales listing is wrong about the 52 minutes thing. I've read in quite a few places that Amarok is 52 minutes long, and there are even more I've heard about. Of course, that's totally wrong. Amarok is and will remain 60 minutes long, give or take a few seconds. It makes me wonder where they got that 52 minutes thing from in the first place. Where did they pull that number from?

Maybe it was an indifferent person who wrote
that number  :)

I think it's because of the liner notes saying it was 52 mins.  "Mistakes in a Mike Oldfield reissue liner notes?!?!", I hear you ask, "Surely not?!?!"  ;)

We could have an item of "what 8 minutes of Amarok would you get rid of if you had to?"

Just in case anyone's wondering: the 52 minutes item was taken from David Laing's very inaccurate notes on the Elements booklet (the one in the box), which the notes on the Amarok Remastered booklet were excerpted from. It's nowhere near the truth. :D I have two copies of the remastered version, two copies of the normal one and they all clock at 60:04 on my CD player. :)

Audio differences between the two versions? Not a single one really noticeable, except if you have dog's ears. :)

So, if I am a cloth-eared nincompoop, it should make no difference at all?

Should we have a poll to find out how many cloth-eared nincompoops are using this forum?

I have both versions: old and remastered and both are identical (because the first release was also mastered  ;)  ). What about the 52 minutes??It sucks!!There is maaany mistakes in the remastered serie covers like the islands bottom cover or Crises or Platinum or QE2.  :/
