Being an Enigma fan over the years and enjoying all their previous albums, I purchased their lattest called 'Voyageur'.

To me this is their best album so far, very upbeat with the usual Enigma quality.

My fav track is No 5 called 'Boom - Boom'.

So if your a fan of Enigma, whats your opinion of the album?

Cheers MO fan (& Enigma fan)  :D

I've also got it, and I agree that both boum boum and following the sun are excellent tracks.

Took me a couple of listens to really get into this one though.  It doesn't seem to be a typical Enigma album.  More disjointed somehow.

It's excellent. My favs are the all the tracks where Cretu doesn't sing :) - except for "Total eclipse of the moon" because it has a wonderful melody.

@ Ian Campbell: sorry if I bother you in such a silly way :), but what do you mean, "It doesn't seem to be a typical Enigma album"? Cretu changed his style from album to album (okay, two of 'em are based on Gregorian chants, but they're very unlike each other), so I don't think there's a way to define a 'typical' Enigma album. Disjointed? Nah, The Cross of changes made weirder song-to-song transitions than Voyageur, e.g. from the pure New Age of "Dream of the dolphin" to the metallic rock of "Silent warrior" - not exactly what I'd call musical coherence. :) At least this is what I think - you may hit on me if you don't like my comments. :)

I only meant that for me it didn't seem to hang together as well as previous albums, the tracks are quite seperate in places (from what I can remember).  As I say, it took me a couple of listens to get into it.

I found the sounds at the beginning of the first track (and a couple of other places) were just a bit "!!!THIS IS AN ENIGMA ALBUM!!!" (borrowing from previous albums).

Argeed, each album has been different in style, but there has always been a sort of style behind it all, and although this album does follow the style, it seems to feel the need to point it out.

Yeh, this is typical of Enigma, it usually takes a few listens to get into a new album. Then its great!

Enigma is also quite guilty of pulling out themes from previous albums and we get that at the start of this album, but it blends in well enough.

Glad most of you liked the new album, many Mike Olfield fans seem to like Enigma.

I also bought "Voyageur" and immediatly after I bought "The Screen Behind The MIrror". I've only got one thing to say - It's really good music. I like "Weightless" and "The Piano" the most.

I don't know the last Enigma album but I have the first one (and don't like it) and the third one ('Le Roi est mort, vive le Roi' ) which is really great.
