Well, you know, I don't see anything too bad in the auctions site at the moment, though much depends on how well it's managed.
It's a little bizarre though, that they close the forum down after abuse, but yet feel that it's safe to open an auctions site where there's potential for far more serious kinds of abuse.
I very much doubt Mike's doing it to make serious money, but it could well help to support the website. I know that commercial operations are often looked upon with disdain around these parts, but the fact is that websites do cost money to run. I'm actually less concerned with the fact that he's taking money (he's been doing that for years after all, through CD and concert ticket sales) and more concerned with what fans get once they've parted with their cash (or rather, once they've electronically transferred their money to him).
I do also think it's a shame that there's not more recognition of the support that many fans have given him over the past 31 years, in buying all his albums and providing him with the wherewithal to be able to embark on Music VR. As it stands, if you don't want Music VR, he's not interested in you...and even then...
