So anyway Im listening to Islands, next thing Im tracking down info on all the artists and come across this album by a group called Kevin Ayers (singer on Flying Start) and The Whole World.  To my surprise this 1970 album features Mike Oldfield on guitar, vocals and bass.

Has anyone heard this album and is it worth tracking down?

Well, yes, it is worth getting. It's quite different from Mike's stuff though. Pretty much typical early 70s rock stuff, Beatles influenced, a bit jazzy, a bit progressive, quite playful stuff - very nice. Mike plays mainly bass but also some guitar. Quite an essential addition to your collection if you already have all Mike albums.
BTW, he also plays on many of Kevin's subsequent albums: http://www.dbennett.karoo.net/Discography.html
