At last, the first part of Barafundle! Quite different from part 2 more (Songs from Distant Earthish). The sound of the sea actually comes from Barafundle Bay. I took the recording on my iPhone last year.

Part 1 & 2 should really be joined now but I will work on that...

Barafundle Part 1

UPDATE

Here's the 2 parts as one now:

Commented on Soundcloud at specific parts of the combined track...

Overall I like it - good job!

I like it too, very good feeling to it! I really like the sounds you are using (especially percussion! )

There are a few tweaks I want to revisit like the guitar on part one.. levels are too high.. but that will wait for another day..

the drums are courtesy of Native Instruments Kore - True Strike Tension. My new toy!

Another fine piece, QM.You've quoted Mendelssohn's "Fingal's Cave", haven't you, to suggest that the Scottish waters have washed down as far as Wales....? My favourite part is actually the little guitarish melody that starts at around the 5 minute mark. That's an ingenious little variation on the Mendelssohn.

Barafundle I & II

So so good Quietman, this really is outstanding, just a beautiful sound...like standing at the prow of a ship, moving really fast over an ocean...feeling the elements of water and air rush past...

the drumming is what holds it all together...more and more....I just love it....so good....if you ever did an album just of that drumming, I'd still want more. And I just love the way it turns gently into Part 2, that by now very familiar melody to me. This bit is definitely on land in my mind.

A firm favourite of mine. It has real presence. Playing it again and again.
I have downloaded it, btw, thank you very much !!  :)

I've got Sonar Studio - started with version 4 (free 'lite' version I got with hardware) and have kept upgrading since.

Have you tried X1 yet? I have and I prefer it to 8.5.

It's great that NI have released the LE versions of almost all their synths/effects isn't it... but it makes me want to buy the full versions!

I love technology and I love the internet... this wouldn't have been possible 20 years ago!

Cheers,
Terry.

I'm a bit annoyed with Cakewalk as someone is offering Producer X1 for £130 buy buying 8.5 for that price you get it free.

Yes, I want to upgrade but the budget is tight at the mo as the B&B/cafe is really suffering so money's tight. I'll soldier on with 8.5.3

Mind you..... Komplete 7 is on the wish list I bought Komplete Elements so yes you are right the buggers have got you hook line and sinker!
