Barafundle Part 2

Here's a new one . Still not quite finished but worth a listen. Is it worthy of inclusion on Tubular.Net album with my others?

You decide.....

Hi Quietman

Just played the piece several times.
I couldn't help myself and had to play along on the old accoustic, lovely. This got me thinking.
Would it be possible to collaborate ?
Could it be Milamber is suggesting one of his solo's for the quiet bit.
Could this be the theme for the collaboration for muso's out there. Check my post.
Playing with other people is important for developing your writing skills.
Too many instrumental writers live inside bubbles. They have to burst from time to time. Even Mike collaborates.
If it's too bigger step I understand. I'm just trying to burst the bubble.
Great sound and I'm sure that either way you'll make a good job of it.  I would certainly like to play a small piece on it though if thats possible.

hi dunlooser

It will be an honour for me for you to add something to this piece! The thing is ; I can create music and have some reasonable ideas that can come out but can't really play instruments well (well maybe trumpet in the past). That's where MIDI recording comes in. I record my melodies then correct them.

But for a guitarist to add something to this piece would be an honour and make the track sound 'real' rather than too synthesized. As stated, this could be a experiment in a number of us collaborating. Need to find out the best medium. You can of course just take the mp3 file of the track and tinker with it or I can export it to another DAW format. Let me know....

Have you seen OhmStudio? Don't know how it works - if it needs to be real-time or can be incremental... but it looks interesting.

Cheers,

Hi Quietman,
I would be honoured to play for you. Plus it would be to the best of my ability.

I prefer to keep it simple. I like to cause it keeps the juices flowing.

I'll download your track and use it to rehearse first. Then if you could give me those lovelly drums and nothing else, via the same site. I'll put my guitar to that whilst running both just the drums, and, the original. What I'll then make available to you is the guitar parts. You just have to insert them where you want. Its as simple as that. Then when YOU add to the drums and guitar, I'll add that to the guitar part I'll have kept., along with the drums only. That way were both getting what we need to start making Barfundle, by, thetubulargroup.
Perhaps we'll disagree and compromise, but, all that happens then is...................we'll have two versions.
If we can get Milamber to do a drum track and smillsoid to add that darkness he is a natural with. We may have something. EXPERIMENT its always been the way forward. I'm going to bed, reading Stephen Coonts, when not reading Ian Rankin. Can't wait. Ta Ta

hi dunlooser

haven't been on the workstation tonight but will log on tomorrow. The drums are 2 sounds. Firstly, I just bought True Strike Tension (Native Instruments) which plays in Kore player. I will need to create a drum loop from that for you. The other is a drum loop so can be sent as a .wav quite easy.

I've always imagined the end to have an arpeggiated classical guitar (similar to an end to one of MOs pieces which for the life of me a can;t remember what it was now)  . I won't make any more changes to the piece. I'll get onto it tomorrow....

Been thinking about this.

Over the last few days, I've emailed a couple of simple short tracks to Milamber. Apparently they've got there just fine.

Maybe you could do that. I only have the kit to work with audio anyway.

You would have to do a master of the track, you want to send, as though it was the finished thing. I mean just the drums nothing else. No need to engineer at this point just keep it dry. No FX etc.

If your saying those drums are actually two tracks then I would need both.

One other thing, I need to know the b.p.m. I can then set my tempo track. I would need that in order to drop new tracks in, and, to move them about should it be required.

Tell us what you think.

Just opening Sonar to see what I can do. Forgot to mention there is also the standrad drum kit in there (EZDrummer kit) as well so that's 3 tracks of drums. I know I can export each track in various formats... let me know what's best.

The sample is easy I will send that to start with as you can loop it.
