Hi everyone,

I was happy to be on the chat with Mike last monday, but I must say I was dissappointed about the way Mike handled the whole thing. I don't know, maybe I see it wrong, but in my opinion, he answered very few questions, and only trivial ones. Why not talk about the new album, about singles, favorite musiscians, music, home-life, ideas behind his work, etc. Instead of this he answered, in a very general way, questions about fansites (he's seen some), beer (he likes guinness), favorite places (he like's a museum - Egypt?) and so on.

Am I the only one feeling this way?

Anyway, apart from this it was a nice experience, but more so because of a lot of people participating than Mike Oldfield sharing some good stuff with us.

Greetings,

Dali

well my guess is that music and his own work is not what Mike wants to chat about...

someone here said that to stay in touch on chat with you can only one way...not speak about music...or not that much :)

And we had another example of Mike's continues change of opinions. :)

A month ago we read in an article Mike hated the surround sound (5.1), because it's like an animal sneaking behind you. Now he said he had changed his studio to 5.1 surround sound...

When so many people are talking at once, it's really hard to have any kind of proper conversation (and to talk to that many people in so little time as well) - I think he just gave up and made light of it to save himself from being driven nuts by the situation.

I had the impression that he got kinda angry with tons and tons of questions to him...he got into his defence mode...

I think part of problem lay in that to many people were taking part. If I remember rightly last years more successfull chat had a cut off of about 50 people, this time there was well over 100 people bombarding him with stuff. There's only a certain speed Mike can type at so obviously he was going to keep his answers short and to the point. Anyway the whole things supposed to be a laugh and as Mike said (and some fans should take notice) people take things surrounding him way to seriously.

:D  :D  :D

You have gone to far, mate. I think even Oldfield would take offense at this one  :D . Is this a way to treat a composer? Noty boy!

Greetings
