I can't recall the name of the radio station, but former Mike's manager Nicky Horne has got a radio show which can be nice to ask for some L + S tunes as well as an interview with Mike.

From BBC Radio 2 another choice can be ol' good Johnie Walker, those 2 times Mike appeared on his show were very nice, also including a webchat.

I e-mailed Simon Mayo's album chart show the week just before L & S was released, asking if there would be any interviews etc. I got the standard we-are-too-buisy-to-reply-to-individual-questions answer back in about 1 nano second. I was really disheartened as Simon Mayo interviewed Mike back in 2003. Oh well.

I cannot understand the lack of promotion. Why release an album you don't want lots of people to hear? Did he do it just for us?!! Perhaps he just does not like doing the publicity thing. I can understand that, but these days I think you need a little something. And especially so because it is worth it. A lot went into making the music after all.

According to the great interview translated by Maria ( over in the articles section of this website - thanks Maria!;), Mike said something about only 10% of people who talk about his music, actually reach the spirituality  [ and  I believe - understand it]. Are we, the members of this board along with other Mike related websites worldwide, those 10%. Or are we 10% of the 10%?

I love the new album btw. Apart form the techno drums. I can live with them, coz everything else is sooooooo good. :)

Also, we have the repeat problem of an American music company making the album difficult to get in the United States.

Warners had this problem eventually, but only after "Tubular Bells 2". They made this one easily available and promoted it. After this, they did not.

The inclusion of two bonus tracks, apparently only on the UK version, is also sure to create more ill will.

Mercury is not starting out well here.

I got the impression he was aiming that comment well and truly at us lot. Well put it this way, who else talks about his music? I don't really know what he means by 'spirituality', it could be seen by some as a bit of a pompous thing to say if he means that only 10% of us lot 'get' the spirit of his music. Its a bit of an ambiguous comment.

It seems the bigger the company - the weirder their policies. Or maybe it's just that so many people are involved in so many departments within the company it's more a case of not everyone singing from the same hymn sheet!

Whichever way you look at it, it's us the consumer, who lose out and get disgruntled. In this day of instant download of whatever you want, why bother to have so many versions i.e bonus tracks etc. It's all very unfair. I'll send you a UK copy Hiawatha!! Lakme is beautiful.

Yes, Toby, I too thought it was an ambiguous statement that could have been aimed at us here. To be quite honest I felt it was more towards the negative remarks, quite cutting and hurtful some of them, and casually made. I'm talking generally, nothing specific. And a lot of it came about from having heard only tiny bits of poorly recorded (from a radio) music. I was growing tired of reading about what people didn't like.

I'm sure Mike wouldn't do something he thought was not good. He is afterall an "artist" and the music is his "creation" and he choses to share it. Our lives would be considerably less enriched if he didn't do so.

I do feel spiritually in touch with the music. I cannot ignore it, I always come back to it after a break, I am constantly hearing more each time I listen. It is so meaningful to me, when I listen I go elsewhere inside my head. Sounds a bit daft, but I need this music, it centres me.

I suppose the radio stations, and the record buying public in general don't really have an interest in any new product from Mike, and having bought the new album, I can quite understand why.

Wow you are a very dedicated fan, what's it like to be that loyal?  Perhaps Mike was feeling narrowed down from the radio 2 TB2003 interview, somehow I felt that he was dissapointed.

:D  its not really a case of being loyal.  But it seems that all the new and about to be released albums have been previewed and reviewed, and I've heard nothing about L&S.  Just seems odd... of course the answer could be that L&S has been reviewed on there and I've missed it!!!!
