I think so.I remeber seeing that on TV when they re-ran the film.Ah Blue Peter.Such memories!According to Mike they were only going to use his version for a very short time (remeber it was released as part of their appeal to help the refugees in the Cambodian war and all preceeds went to Oxfam-and then 5 years later he makes the soundtrack to The Killing Feilds)and they used it for something like 10 years!I see the film's on Youtube now. That bought back some memories. One thing puzzles me though. As far as i remeber the version used on the TV programme was a different mix and started with a drum roll. Why was this not the version released?

The original broadcast of the film was March 1, 1979 but that was postponed from being shown on February 15, 1979. Therefore it was filmed before this. The theme Blue Peter used would have been the tape Mike gave them. However, due to the weekly use of it, the public wanted a copy to buy. So Mike remixed it for single release and most people were happy - apart from DJs who didn't like the sudden ending. Mike was then obliged to do a second version with a conventional ending. A third version appears on a Dutch release.

Speaking of blue peter, I hustled me up a blue chair on Yoville, a game on facebook. Yeah, I know, FO Jim. Gee FO is Fanny Oldfield's initials.......I guess you can tell I'm feeling neglected on tube-net. I'm bored. Gimme some news I can use.

I come home every morning to my fellow Tubes expecting a hearty pat on the back. It's not much to ask for after a hard night's work now is it? BTW  "blue peter" is a serious medical condition we should all be educated and aware of. Use your search engine of choice and give freely to this most serious of causes.......
