In the sun newspaper today there is a chart of great britain's record collection.

Mike is number 28 with Tubular Bells, not a bad position!

Tubular Bells... it's always Tubular Bells...

Speaking of lists and polls and that sort of thing, I was greatly surprised that in the most recent edition of the full collection of British Hit Singles & Albums, in a list of the Top 100 Albums of all time, voted for by people who purchase the book and visit the website, Tubular Bells was only number 39!

To make matters more surprising, it wasn't Sgt. Pepper at #1, although it did reach #2, Revolver was #3.

In fact, the rather mediocre Definitely Maybe was #1, and I'm not really a fan of Oasis.

I wonder why most of Mike's other Albums weren't as recognised. Albums such as Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn, and the incredibly complex Amarok. But, at least he has one piece of compositional magic that is recognised as being a piece of true genius.
