If there were a midi file of this one, it would be a simple matter of loading it into Cakewalk or one of the many music programs which can display midi as notes on a staff. However, there does not seem to be a midi file for this one.

While we are on this track (well, I am anyway  :)  ), I just can't seem to pick up the clock ticking mentioned in the liner notes.

I thought it might be age, wooly ears or some such, so had my daughter listen - no luck there either.

My CD was manufactured in Argentina, maybe they don't like clock sounds??

The ticking was included in the original version of the track - the one on the promo - which also included Winston Churchill's speech containing the title phrase. I have that version  - PM me if you want it.

Don't have sheetmusic for this piece, I just want to say how impressed I am with it. From the very beginning it evokes feelings of grief and despair, it's just so beautiful and overwhelming that I must express this. Normally it's hard to decide, but in this case I'm positive, it's the best track on the MB album!

Thanks Ugo - an interesting variant.  Must say the ticking was a bit subliminal for my ancient ears.  I liked the inclusion of the speech though.

@ Tony (TR): the ticking is there every time that Churchill speaks. It's very faint, but it's there. :)

Well - my daughter and I are willing to admit the possibility of ticking beneath the speeches  ;)

Controversial as it may be   ;)  - I have been listening to TMB.

I love this track, particulary the piano and string section.

Also the last section reminds me of "The Waltons" or "Little House on the Prairie" - a very family orientated feel.

Edit to include: - I have heard the ticking for the first time :O
