I'd love to go to this! Small article at  this link. No idea why they have chosen a special screening now. Any ideas?

Update: link to the cinema here. Apparently it is as part of the 50th year of NASA celebrations...

I agree would be great to see that movie in the cinema.Would love to hear Mike`s music and those fantastic images in a big screen environment. What a truly memorable experience that would be.Can`t help you with the reason why they`re showing it now I`m afraid. But let`s just hope this guy does`nt decide to go along.

Even now I find myself looking up at the moon from time to time and thinking.."Wow!..People have actualy been up there and walked about on that thing. " It`s an indescribable feeling I get from that sometimes I have to say. When you think of those early years of people learning to fly and the time it took for mankind to get to the moon. And then you think about the amount of time that has passed by already since those initial moon landings. You know I think that really puts into perspective as to how tremendous that achievment was somehow. The apollo guidance computer of 1969 for instance had a RAM of 4kb.And a hard drive of about 30kb or something..Bloody hell man you could`nt even get a full album on that thing, and they were sending people up into space with it.The mind truly boggles..

All those conspiracy theory dudes need to get a life imo.Apart from maybe these guys.    ;)

Aaah 50 years of NASA it all makes sense now I guess.

Seems a strange idea. The Space Movie came out originally in 1979 and was made for TV.I know it's 50 years of NASA but it strikes me as a wierd thing to choose for cinematic release. But it would be good to hear all the rare bitties (tech term)from The Space Movie on cinema speakers.
The cinema in question is showing a lot of Tony Palmers other films i notice. The Space Movie,All My Loving AND he's introducing All You Need Is Love in person. All they need to show is the Cream farewell concert and Ginger Baker In Africa and they'd have pretty much the lot i think. What a great cinema.

I've always been amazed by the fact that you would not even fill an old 5 inch floppy disk with the data they had to work with at that time. And made it there.....and back.......And I'm old enough to have watched it live in 1969.
Funny story. My late father was a pilot in the Air Force. Many years ago he told me that he and Buz Aldrin were (I'm shady as to which....) in the same flight school in the AF, or in college. They seemed to not have compatible personalities and disliked each other. They were playing soccer one day and Buzz Aldrin kicked the sh^& out of my dad's lower leg. He said it hurt like hell. Oh well, I guess Buzz might have had his reasons.......
