I have just been listening to Quelqu 'un m'a dit by Carla Bruni. Wondered if anyone else likes her style. The acoustic guitar is cleverly played ( but I am no musician so it may not be...it just sounds good to me) and the French language is so beautiful to listen to ( I imagine English does not sound  as good as that to a non-native speaker!!;) it just flows and makes wonderful shapes in the air. She could be singing about sewer rats for all I know!! Really warm and sunny and relaxed. Sorry I can't do any links, haven't a clue about that sort of thing, but do try and find, it's good.

Raphael is my favourite at the moment.

Well... I don't know if you know about this, but Carla Bruni is a rather well-known model, who only recently started singing - she has a tiny voice, and the one who plays acoustic guitar is not her. :). However, I like that song too. I've not heard the rest.

By the way, the title means "Someone told me" and the chorus says: "Someone told me that you still love me. It's only that someone told me that you still love me: could this be possible?"

Thanks Ugo, I did not know she is a model, but I did hear she is Italian, is that right? Her French sounded... well French if you know what I mean. It really is a good album. I recommend it.

Yes, of course she's Italian... she's from Florence. Her French sounds perfect French because she's a model for the Christian Dior fashion house and so she's lived in France much longer than in Italy. ;) However, as I said, I rather like that song, so I'll surely check out the album when I have some time to find it. :)

P.S. Who is Raphael? I'm curious... :)

Now I understand why she sounds so French, thank you!

I believe Raphael is her boyfriend. She certainly sounds as if she loves him!! Good song. Is he famous too, by the way?

I've just checked out the lyrics... "Raphaël" is indeed a love song, although the words do not specify who Raphaël is... obviously. :D
The chorus says: "He looks like a wise man, and his words are like velvet; he has a deep voice and his gaze never goes astray; when he tells stories, when he invents, I could listen to him night and day..."  Very nice indeed. :)

But the guitarist who play with him is quite good.

Is there a little misunderstanding here? :) Are we talking about the "Raphael" who is the subject of one of Carla Bruni's songs, or about a Raphael who is a real singer/artist, and which I'm not aware of at all? If the second is the case... Sonilink... I'd like to know who he is... please. :) :)
