Thanks for your replies.
>>>> Really nice, but I'd like to hear more guitar-based stuff from you. This, however, is better in the second half than in the first one. IMHO.
Thanks again. If you mean acoustic guitar, I'd like to hear more acoustic pieces from me too, but it probably won't be possible until I organize a studio in my new apartment. And that won't be possible in near future, unfortunately, since studios require money, and money requires work to be done
>>>> Very jolly and enjoyable. I wasn't sure I was going to like it when the brass came in near the start, it didn't seem to fit with the beat, but it all comes together nicely.
Thanks. I assume you felt it was falling out of beat because of Korg M1's long 'attack time' for the brass. I don't hear it, but I heard the piece a million times while working on it so I could have gotten used to it.
>>>> Quirky, happy and very Mike Oldfieldish.
Nice to hear!
>>>> I like the piece too, but agree with Ginger Daddy about the brass. Definitely substitute something that sounds less flatulent. The opening melody reminded me of the ants' theme from Tres Lunas. A couple of other suggestions: some of the melodies are repeated too often in quick suggestion. Also, I'd like to hear it played twice or three times as fast. A manic boost might lift it on to another plane.
I tinkered with several instruments before settling on brass, because I needed something to play all the way through the piece, but doesn't sound intrusive. I guess I failed I don't think I'll invest more effort into this piece, but I'll keep suggestions from all of you in mind for the next one.
>>>> I like the brass for the most part. It's jolly and fun sounding. I find the part that comes in at around 46 seconds though to be a bit distracting though. Other than that I like it and it feels shorter than it actually is to me not the other way round, which is always a good thing.
That was the reason I decided to share it here; for all its inevitable shortcomings I thought it had enough energy to be interesting and fun.
