Hi,

I've been listening to The Piano Guys a lot recently (http://youtube.com/thepianoguys) and I love the sound they get by combining a gazillion cello overdubs with some piano and percussion. So I thought to myself "perhaps I should give it a go" and this is the result... Celloforte!

The mix has some problems so any suggestions as to how to fix it would be gratefully received.

To replicate this live you'd need 5 cellos, 2 pianos, a drumkit (and a quiet synth bassline that is barely audible).

Cheers,
Terry.

Thanks, that was interesting. I enjoyed it, though it isn't really my kind of music. It's good to hear the sound of the cello being used in a less usual context.

I think the cello's underused outside classical music. It was actually Klaus Schulze who inspired me to think of it as an instrument with wider possibilities, and there seem to be a few people picking up on it now (such as the cello group that plays Metallica pieces, and so on), but it really needs to be developed more widely.

That said, I really need to play mine more often instead of just saying how other people could be using that sound....
