Silhouette is currently my most downloaded track.  This new track is in a similar style.  It will be on my third album.

I'd love to know what you think of this, even if it's just "I like it".  Any feedback is useful.  Thanks for listening!

I like the melody and the development of the song. But it sounds too much 'electronic' for me. Have you tried the same melody in a more acoustic flavour?

Hi Wayfarer :)

I haven't tried this as a purely acoustic track, as it is supposed to be electronic. ;)

Thank you for the feedback :D

No, I'm not meaning purely acoustic, just a bit more acoustic. I'll try to explain it clearer.

The current piano and the synth lead had similar textures and pitch, so the main tune and the complementary tune overlaps one over the other. The result is that all the melodies are too mixed and it has a kind of blurry effect. It's difficult for me to explain this because I don't have musical studies and also I'm native spanish and this is not the kind of things that I use to speak about in english ;)

Try this: lower the bass line one octave, lower the main melody (the synth lead one) one octave too, and choose an acoustic granpiano or a glockenspiel (maybe a vibraphone...) for the synth piano melody. Also try playing with the panning. Lets see what happens ;)

Which software and gear are you using?

Wayfarer - as promised.

I'd be interested to know if you and everyone else thinks this is an improvement.  I quite like what your suggestions have done for the track.  This version is called "Radial Circumference" as I wanted to keep the original version intact.  Comments are very welcome. :)

Wow! It sounds far better for me! But... Hehehe...

Paning is unbalanced. When you hear the song with speakers it's almost unnoticed, but when you hear it with headphones, the glocken melody weights too much to the right. It has two possible workarounds: you can either center it a bit or...

This is a trick that I learn from Oldfield: take the glocken melody, repeat it on a different track and pan it the same amount but to the opposite side. This will give it a sense of amplitude. And to get the things one step farther, in the parts where the gloglocken melody goes fast (from 1:45 to 1:53 and from 2:36 to the end) you can take out some notes alternatively on the two tracks, so you get a kind of 'conversating' notes effect (like in the piano part of Orabidoo).

At the end you can solve the glocken melody by erasing completely the last chord on the duplicated track and make the panning go from the right to the left along the final notes.

You know what I mean?

P.D. I'd really wish to have a midi file of this track... I have an idea for a remix. Pleeeeeease...  :)  :)  :)

P.D. 9:05?!?!  I'm late to work!! ARGH!!!

Hi Ben!

Yeah, now it's perfect. But that's just my opinion. I'd really like to hear comments also from other people around.

I really like this version. :D

P.D. I've received the midis. I'll try to take the dust off the Alesis QS6 and make a cover... If my boss give me some time ;)

ah, good! :D  I hope nobody else says "change it back to how it was before Wayfarer commented" ;)

Seriously though, I don't mind, it would be good to hear other comments.  And I am interested to hear what you come up with, Wayfarer, from my MIDI files. :)
