I was merrily driving along today and slipped the Station onto the Classic FM when suddenly this Fantastic "Guitar Solo" of Etude started up.. Its a lot nicer than the MO version as well IMO .. Played by "John Williams" the Official title of the TK is "Recuerdos De La Alhambra" composed by Francisco Tarrega. I never realised that Mike had changed the name of the Music but hey well live and Learn...  Deff worth a listen if you like the "Etude" Tk.. I might try and get a MP3 of it somewhere .. :D

Well... I thought that Mike's "Etude" being really Tárrega's "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" was common knowledge among fans... evidently it's not. :D :D And BTW the title wasn't the only thing Mike changed ... he also changed the performing style of the music itself... :)

The original is a tremolo piece, the melody is all tremolo and the thumb plays the arpeggio which is in mike's version played on some kind of vibraphone i think. It's a wonderfull virtuoso piece and yes it's more memorable than Mike's Etude.
I remember Mike saying that he can play the original.
It's called Etude because it's made for practicing tremolo playing on  classical guitar. Many classical guitarists play it constantly.
