What are your complaints about Mike's music - is it too New Age-y? At least his worst album is still quite good, and is still worth buying and listening to!  If you don't like his recent stuff, as I've said before, perhaps you should try to get into someone else, such as Steve Hackett or Camel!

I wish Mike would do another 'Ommadawn' sequel, maybe 'Incantations' , 'Crises' etc. instead of doing anymore sequels of T Bells as he's done enough of them and I feel he should make sure that he's remembered for his other albums, not just T Bells and it's sequels!

1) My personal complaint about Mike's music nowadays is that it's just not creative anymore. I don't care if it's new age-y or not, it's just bland. He used to be much more original than that.

2) I don't think any of us would have problems getting into other artists. ;) It's just sad to see Mike fading away into mediocrity, and we hope to see him strong again.

3) I wouldn't say his worst album is worth buying. :/

My only complain about Mike´s music is...labelled as new age since I personally don´t think it is...

Well, I think he should get away from sequels. Now that he re-recorded the bloody thing, he could stop being so obssessive and go do something... you know, something new, explored some unknown territory. Be it Ommadawn "World-music" stuff, Platinum "Prog-rock" stuff or Crises down-to-earth rock 'n' roll, be it something unexpected. That's all I ask, and I guess everyone would be pleased.

Er, virtually everyone.

And nope, it's definitely not new-age. :)

I actually fell Mike has finished all the Tubular albums for good now,now that he has re-recorded it,which was to please himself,no-one else,i feel in his mind that he has come full circle and finished what he started 30 years ago, this is in evidence by the fact he is looking for a new non Tubular name for his new computer world.
I think this is the start of a new Mike Oldfield era,at least lets give him a chance to see what he comes up with.

Mike will create Tubular Bells IV, (don't be mistaken by the Millenium Bell) V, VI, etc. etc. why? because each piece is a chapter of his and our lives.

I have found in the past when I have bought one of his new pieces that it was not what I expected, but then that is my fault... so I Listen & begin to Hear... Just like the first time.

TB VI, V and so on? Oh, Lord, no. Don't scare me. We all have enough Tubular Bells in or lives. We don't need no more. :/

With TB 2003,maybe it´s the end of the Tubular Bells life cycle.

If Mike dosen´t want to see any tubular, tube in his game,it means something.

The bell is Mike's signature, it's his way of saying: here I am.

My complaints about Mike:
- I want something fresh and genuine this time!

When Mike was a guest on the Jools Holland Show Jools said to him, at the end of the interview, "I hope we have you back in here with TB 4, 5 and 6". Now old Jools was quite clearly taking the piss, I hope that wasn't lost on Mike.

Quite frankly if he ever releases a TBIV I will give up. I certainly don't want a TBIV or V to be part of my life, I didn't really want a TBIII to be part of my life but I seem to have got it anyway.

Maybe he's repeatedly bell-ing just because he's lazy? :)

What if he calls the album Tubular Bells IV, but it has nothing to do with Tubular Bells whatsoever and is the perfect long instrumental you have been hoping for? Will you still 'give up' then? Really, I don't see any connection between Tubular Bells III and the original save a few minutes of opening theme. I do understand the complaints about too much Tubular Bells, but I don't agree with them because I like Tubular Bells II and III very much. What is more important, the name of the album or the music?

In an interview with DJ Lisa I'anson in August 2002,while promoting Tres Lunas,Mike said that this is the end of the Tubular Bells series,Tubular Bells 2003 is the first and last release!!!.

MO can do some great "new-age-y" stuff: The Songs Of Distant Earth was really amazing, and may be one of his most wonderful records. Voyager is a great record too. But what he did after is not so good and not very inspired.

SECONDED, my thoughts entirely.

I hope for some unique music from Mike this year and without the dreaded CP.
