... at Snowdays.

I love snow, and we usually get a little bit every year, but it's not enough for me. I recall childhood years when we'd have a foot or more - I miss that.

Doesn't that make the arms look too small?

Quite addictive, that snowflake website! (And some people are amazingly skilled at creating them.)

Ah Sweetpea the joy of youth, I too remember as a younster how excited I got when I looked down and thought I had a foot to boast of, how distressing to find out I was measuring with a six inch ruler.

Oooh, I like this.  Though I have to say the best ones I've made are when I hack at the virtual paper at random.  If I try and be methodical or clever, it just doesn't seem to work as well.

You guys have tainted my innocent childhood memories with your talk of multiple carrots and extended footage. Please continue.

Thinking back, things weren't all that great then. I mean, we didn't have proper heating for the house, so winters were spent huddling under layers of blankets (we had plenty of those scratchy woolen army ones) or hovering over the old gas heater in the dining room. I think I was 18 when we finally got a forced air heating system installed.

Anyhoo, back to making flakes. Mine are under "SWEETPEA" from "PUYALLUP". Yes, they are addictive. I must have several dozen by now.

Is that you, Alan, poeticizing with tea and jam? I realize the person in question is named "Alan" and that he claims to be English, but one can't be too careful about making assumptions.

Well, that site will keep me busy between customers for a while. Nice find Sweetpea.

Not that I have any idea what snow is being a "southern softie"

I'm sorry to go askew Sweetpea but I also remember when I was a kid I had it rough too, infact we were so poor we got all our clothes from Army surplus stores. And I'll have to tell you it was no fun in class 5M being the only boy dressed as an SS Stormtrooper.

Well, Sweetpea: yes and no. I am not the only 'Alan' from England adding snowflakes to that website. I am, however, running out of rhymes for 'snow' and 'white'.

You were lucky to have clothes. We made our own using old brown paper bags and fish glue. (When we had any fish glue left over from our weekly meal, that is.)

Maybe it's a bit dissapointing to find out what you thought was 12 inches turned out to be just 6 inches     .

What am I doing in sunny Brazil without the...SNOW? I hate this sunny weather all the time...

I love it,it's sooo fascinating, but it can be a problem when there's too much of it on the streets!

Talking of snowflakes, when I was a kid snow for me was a wonderous thing I loved everything about it, I would even eat snow when I got thirsty. My favourite snow to eat was the yellow snow usualy situated at the base of lampost's.

Oh seeing as we're getting all nostalgic it remind's me of my last trip down memory lane.  Yeah I got a ticket for doing 50 in a 30 zone.

You were lucky to have snow to eat, TBBE. We only had pebbles.

@Sweetpea:
I found your message, responded, and planted one of my own in your most recent flake....

I've attempted a humble 'Tubular' flake - 5207889.

Alan, your versery has really gotten me in a wintery mood. Got my hot cocoa - just missing some mini marshmallows.

I find most of Frank's music a little way out for me.  :)  :D .
