For all you sample-playing type people out there, you can now get a virtual instrument called Cult which contains sounds from a number of synths Mike used including the Fairlight.

There is a demo here and as well as the usual suspects (listen out for the Sledgehammer-like Shakuhachi halfway through) some of the choir sounds in the last quarter of the demo sound very similar to some of the stuff in TL/ Music VR Part 1.

Cool. Quite pricey, but the Fairlight alone costed several grand!

If I make any more covers of Mike's music I'd rather use brand new synth sounds to make them sound up to date - in the same way that Mike doesn't resort to old synths, unless in special circumstances

I am downloading the mp3 now...
