Anyone know what's happened to the Dark Star website?  It hasn't been updated for ages!

Maybe no-one cares about it, so... :D

Dark Star's website address changed a long while back from darkstar.org to http://www.mikeoldfield.org. Remember, this site is separate to http://www.mikeoldfield.com

As far as I am aware, mikeoldfield.org has not gone down recently. Its working at the moment at least!

Maybe Ian wonders why their latest 'latest news' is still 17/10/02 ??

Exactly.  Why is it so out of date?

I guess there could be several reasons.

One thing's sure, though - there are people who care about it, but maintaining any site of that kind is not without its difficulties.

I think it's best that I leave any more of the talking to someone who can act as a proper spokesman for them...

The point is,it's meant to be "The Official Mike Oldfield Website",so,you would have thought that there would be more info on it,at least the updates from Mike about Tubular Bells, but there is nothing from October last year onwards

This is where the confusion we discussed recently arises. Presumably Darkstar is meant to be the official MO fansite and MO.com is meant to be his own official site. Personaly I think it would easier all round if they just brought them both together, though I understand why there would be reasons against this.

My own thought is that the Darkstar site is a really nicely designed site much, much better than MO.com and it would be brilliant if this site was a lot bigger with a lot more archive content worthy of it's status as the official fansite. I think it's a shame that people outside of the fanbase surfing in on the web will first be drawn to MO.com which I think is a pretty bland unimaginative site IMHO. With potentialy a lot of new people being drawn to Mike's music if the TB release this year is a success it would good if there was a really well put together web page of some description to further capture their imagination.

Yeah, no tour dates officially announced. Just Mike saying that he wants to do a premiere concert of the new Tubular Bells arrangement in London, and possibly will tour it in Europe - here's hoping!!!
