It's not normal, but it works fine with my account. I don't know how you can fix it, but you can try to go to Preferences and 'delete cookies', and then go to profile to enter your username again (this will recreate the cookie).
Also, on the TW home page http://tubular.net you should see a cool 'Hello, Vinz' message below the Tubular Web News title. If you are a registered user and yo don't see such a message, you can try to do the procedure described above: delete cookie, and go to profile to enter your username again. (You also have to check that 'Store username and password' is checked in th ePreferences page.)

In the future, the TW home page will allow registered users to see clearly what sections (example: links, MIDI) were updated since their last visit, and will allow to personnalize certain things: that's why it's important you register.
