I own a few David Bedford albums on vinyl but it appears that some are finally being made available on CD. I recently got hold of a CD copy of 'Instructions for Angels' - worth the asking price for the title track alone. Track 5 features a six minute workout recorded live in Worcester Cathedral with Bedford on the Cathedral Organ and Oldfield on electric guitar. It is one long improvised guitar solo underpinned by the depth and resonance of Bedford's fantastic organ. Ironically, in my opinion, one of the finest displays of Oldfield's guitar work I have ever heard.

I'm now searching for a CD copy of 'Oddysey' - two tracks feature Mike (Sirens - utterly beautiful and Pheanician Games {sp} - totally rampant and powerful). I can't wait to get hold of this as my vinyl copy (along with 'Stars End' and 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner';) is gathering dust in the attic!

There is a great disc of David's work out on the classical NMC label. It contains "Alleluia Timpanis", the Symphony No. 1, the Recorder Concerto, and "Twelve Hours Of Sunset". I highly recommend it.
