Hi,

The last track for my Christmas EP is now complete... a bit more up-tempo than the other ones, it's a minor version of Deck The Halls.

Hope you enjoy it!

Cheers,
Terry.

:D This place is mad!!

Love Chritmas and Christmas carols and your remixes are very unique Terry. My favourite being "Oh Come All ye Faithful" - good enough to be a Christmas number1.

Best sounding xmas music ever to my ears, I mean it.

That's what I amateurishly intend to do each year at this time of year, even though I'm not a big fan of the melodies and xmas spirit. Seems we have a lot in common musically, I feel a little bit like I'm listening to a very talented version of myself, wiga says it's "unique", while I'd say "exactly how I'd do it".

Wow, such compliments Olivier - I am sincerely touched.

Seven years ago when I started on the musical journey of recording my music for the world to hear (as opposed to just doing it for my own pleasure, and to torture my family) I'd have never imagined that I'd have the tools to create the music I do now.

Hmmm, reading that last paragraph again it comes across as condescending when I really don't mean to be... I guess what I'm saying is that given the inclination and the inspiration, all that's needed is time to develop the ideas and the techniques...

Anyway - thanks immensely for the compliments :-D

Cheers,
Terry.

Ah well... it'll only get to Christmas #1 if people buy it!!!! I anticipate selling about 5 copies of each track if last year's performance is anything to go by...

I have to be very honest with you, Terry: "Deck the Halls" is the only track on your EP that I don't like at all. I love all the others like mad and I think you're a real master arranger. [By the way, is the EP going to be released as a physical CD? If yes, where can I buy it?] The reason why I don't like your arrangement of "Deck the Halls" is exactly the fact that you did it in a minor key. That kind of transposition sounds magnificent on other tracks of yours, but here it sounds totally out of place to me - it sounds like a betrayal of the spirit of the original song. Of course I perfectly understand your intent when doing it, and I perfectly understand why you have done that. I just don't like it at all. :)

Hi Ugo,

I totally get where you're coming from with your comment about Deck The Halls - and I half agree with you (I have got a 'prototype' version that is only minor when it slows down to solo piano in the middle but it sounded too much like other arrangements and didn't have a 'Purple Rhapsody feel' to it).

If you're interested in buying the CD you can do so from my site. There's a link on the right hand side of the discography pages (NOT the "buy" button on the left) which is a quick and dirty PayPal system I set up just for the CDs that I don't sell physically through CD Baby.

PM me if you need any more info re: buying... I don't want to fill the thread up with details like this.

Cheers,
Terry.

I'd like to buy your CD Terry. I think Christmas remixes are the way to go to be honest - I personally like to hear something a bit different. I bought Pink Martini's "Joy to the World" CD this week after hearing it in Starbucks. Sounded lovely - and it was for sale on the counter - so got it!

Could you get your CD played in Starbucks?
