PREVIOUSLY.... Always regarded as an imaginative guitarist and composer, Deirdre Cartwright became well known in the 1980¹s as a result of presenting the BBC¹s ground breaking series Rockschool, which attracted audiences of 2 million viewers every week in the UK and was subsequently shown worldwide. She went on to compose and perform with the Guest Stars with whom she recorded three albums and toured the world. Since forming her own group, she has played extensively in the UK and Europe. Her group represented Great Britain at the European Jazz Festival in Mexico City and her trio featured in a concert and live radio broadcast at the Warsaw International Guitar Festival.
Precious Things her third CD released in 2002 reached no.3 in two jazz charts in this country and no.5 on KAFM radio in the States. Looks like Jazz May 2003 UK tour supported by the Arts Council national touring programme. Combined original jazz compositions with specially created images in a live interactive format.
