I don't know if this has been spoken of here before, but, suppose you were stranded on a desert island, which Mike Oldfield album would you have to have with you and why?
You have a "gramaphone" not a CD player, and you have Tubular Bells because it is essential (so don't count that).
It's difficult, but mine are as follows...
1.  Ommadawn ~ for the cool blues and many memories
2.  Hergest Ridge~ for the raw emotion and force of life
3.  Incantations ~ for a sense of evolution and change - hope for the future. And it is a double album, so a decent length!

But what about Amarok, was that ever an L.P? I've got to have Amarok!

Alternatively...

Suppose you have been abandoned on a planet in a galaxy light years from anywhere, which Oldfield CD could you not be without?

1 Guitars ~ for it's brilliant diversity and versatility
2 Milennium Bell ~ for sheer energy and celebration
3 Voyager ~ to think Oh well that's that then! :/

For the desert island scenario: yes, there is Amarok in LP, so you guess which one I'd pick! Heh heh heh. :D

For the distant galaxy scenario: which CD I couldn't be without? Hmm... hmmmm.......... hmmmmmm............... well, I guess it will be The Songs Of Distant Earth.

Same as me!

And if I had the chance...someone to be with me...who...well,better stay quiet!

If i were stranded on a desert island i would take any Mikey albums that came in a gatefold cover because you could take the albums out and get a big fire going. On a distant planet light years away i would take all his CDs including singles and picture CDs because if you were cornered by some hostile alien creatures you could either:
a) Show them their own reflection in the shiny side, and they would run away terrified.
b) Poke your fingers through the middles and pretend it was essential jewellery, i.e to barter your life with.
c) Being the size they are handy and compact you could use them frisbee style and take them on yourself.
